Ending This War
I find it ironic that I add a nose for more realism but ears are still missing.
So, people, here it is at last. My last day of Freshman year. This is where I win or lose everything I've worked for this past semester. Also, in case you hadn't noticed, I tried changing up my style for this particular occasion. I don't really like it, since it takes quite a while to draw, but I think I've made it abundantly clear by this point that this comic is not about what I want, but rather what you, the reader, want.
By the way, I ripped off the Matrix Reloaded for this comic, in case you thought you recognized something, and it was on the tip of your tongue, and it was going to bother you all day if you couldn't figure it out. Tune in tomorrow as I rip off another timeless classic!

The Woman Question
Here's another woman question: why do they get their own locker room?
Penultimate PoliSci discussion today! As you can see, we discussed the woman question. I didn't enjoy that discussion one bit. Bare in mind, dear readers, that I'm not sexist. Racist, maybe, but not sexist. I just feel a little awkward talking about this feminism stuff.

College Chronicles Babies
Don't they just look cute enough to eat?
Yeah, so the joke here is that high schoolers are babies and you don't truly grow up until you go to college. At least that's the way it is where I grew up. I'm sure the situation elsewhere is different. These adorable little munchkins will be the focus of future strips, so best get used to them!

Cal Day 2009!
Oh, we're off to see the University! The wonderful University of California!
Okay, so to immediately clear things up, I was not on crack when I made this comic.
Cal Day was today! I hope you all had a good time if you went, and burn in hell if you didn't! I had a wonderful time, personally. Saw some interesting stuff, went to some interesting lectures, learned some interesting things. No doubt a worthy experience.

Democrapitalism
"How'd I get into Cal? A 2270 SAT score and a 4.5 GPA. I just sold my soul to score some devilish good-looks."
"No, as a matter of fact, I haven't yet voted."
"OH REALLY? MIND IF I WALK WITH YOU?"
"Sure... I'm kinda headed to Math right now, though."
"SO YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR ME BECAUSE I WILL IMPROVE OPPORTUNITIES FOR ASIANS ON CAMPUS."
"What makes you think I would be interested in stuff like that?"
"... DON'T FORGET TO VOTE FOR ME!"
"I'll definitely keep you in mind."

Le Chatelier's Principle
My advice is to not make the vroom vroom sounds during a midterm. They'll only tip off the competition as to the correct method.
Opening Day around the MLB today! Yankees fail, so do Tigers, Nationals and A's. Mets' bullpen, however, manages not to fail. Not to toil too much on the past, but Johan Santana would have gone 21-7 last season if his bullpen was worth a damn. Quite excited to see how the action unfurls tomorrow.
Oh yeah, North Carolina won the NCAA tournament. Big surprise.

Opening Day
God, even Torre is more popular than that guy.
Yeah, so the Giants won the game that didn't count. The Dodgers didn't even play their best players. Still exciting, though.
Anyway I'm watching the Braves-Phillies game. Derek Lowe is taking care of business. Could this be a telltale sign for the Atlanta ball club? Short answer: no. Long answer: noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Tip #2
Tip #2.5: Don't take PoliSci.
Oh crap, my week just went from bad to worse. The ironic thing is that I may have contributed to getting myself into this mess. Let me explain: the PoliSci GSI was taking a survey to see what worked and what didn't work in section. In my survey, I said that during the student-led discussions, there were too many awkward silences after a question was asked since nobody knew the answer. In order to prevent this in the future, the GSI decided to make the discussion leaders finish the questions by Friday so she could email them to the other students and make sure they knew what was going to be covered. I'm so not thrilled about this, especially considering we just started instituting this policy the week I present a topic.

Cesar Chavez Day
Well, how would YOU celebrate it?
Growing up in a pro-Labor household has granted me increased respect for a couple of the lesser-known holidays, such as Cesar Chavez Day and Labor Day.
Anyway, after a full 24-hours of work (including two straight all-nighters), I can confidently say that I'm finished with my PoliSci paper! It's still not very good, but I just hope it's better than my last one. And it should be, considering I addressed all the problems I had in the first one.

Politics
You see, kids, politics is all about perspective, and I clearly have none of it.
After working on my PoliSci paper for 18 hours (and counting!) I took a break to draw. Wouldn't you know it, the first thing that came to my mind was this politically-themed snoozefest. It helped that there actually were a bunch of people campaigning in Sproul Plaza today, so I can pretend this ties into the whole autobiographical theme of this webcomic series.

Psychiatric Ward
"You senile fool! Can't you see I'm CHINESE???"
Today I paid a visit to the hospital where I used to volunteer. My friend (see March 1st issue of CC) was there too, and I helped her deliver food. I'm a little surprised I still remembered the layout of the hospital, considering I hadn't been there in about a year.

Miramonte
The horror... the horror...
Let's get one thing straight here. I hated high school. Sure, I wouldn't have met cool guys like Brandon and Josh had I not gone to Miramonte. Sure, maybe my being enrolled in a halfway decent school was a factor in my acceptance into Cal. So, you're asking, what's so bad about it? Why don't you sit through four years of secondary education there. Then come back and ask me that same question.

World Baseball Classic
"Oh, you Koreans always say that."
Japan. Korea. Baseball. How much better can it get?
Now, I'm not Japanese, but I'm always one to take jabs at my Korean compatriots whenever there is an international sports event.
Japanese pitcher Iwakuma is hurling a one-hit shutout through four innings. Korean pitcher Bong has suffered from some funky defense and has reached his pitch limit. The score is 1-0 Japan (that one run was unearned). Let's see how this one turns out.

Golf
"That is an odd way to react to that exclamation, I must say."
So Brandon was back from USC today and I kicked off the start of my Spring Break by hanging out and screwing around with him all day. We went to Best Buy to look at some speakers, played golf in the rain, and played basketball with a brand new ball (which we found). Basically reliving the best of the high school days. Would have benefited from addition of a Josh, though. I love those guys.

Madness
THIS IS SPORTA
Well, our very own Golden Bears' trip to the NCAA tournament was sadly cut short, as you can see. I hadn't picked them for my Final Four, however. That distinction belongs to Memphis, Syracuse, Duke and Wake Forest.
Today marks the beginning of Spring Break. I should be happy about this, but I have recently learned of some bad news that may drastically impact my summer plans (I was planning to have fun this summer). More on that later, though. For now, enjoy the madness. Accept it. Love it like your own.

Alone
They're totally missing out. Totally.
Yeah, so I decided not to leave for an early Spring Break, mainly because I have a math quiz tomorrow. Actually... that's the only reason I'm not updating this thing from home right now.
Also, I found out when my Tele-BEARS appointment time is for next semester: April 30. The system opens beginning April 13. For you non-Berkeley readers, that means I sign up for my classes two and a half weeks after they become available. Thankfully I'm planning on taking a bunch of intro classes (Bio 1B, Physics 7A, etc.) that should theoretically have sufficient capacity so that they won't be filled when I get a chance to sign up. I still probably won't get a chance to take all the classes I need to take next semester, but I suppose that's what summer school is for.

Arms and the Dude
"... and then suddenly the Greek soldiers stormed the walls of USC with their great horse..."
So basically, I went into my Classics 10B class thinking that the works we'd be reading would all be as boring as the old, bearded folks who had written them. Boy, was I wrong. Virgil's "Aeneid" is easily one of the most awesome books I've read in a while, and definitely better than most of the shit I had to read in high school English class.

Goodwill
"What the fuck, man! You expect me to buy drugs with this???"
This comic was inspired by two separate instances. One was when John actually did find some maggots in the food he had left in our floor's refrigerator. The second was today, when some street bum saw me walking by and called out to me, saying that he was "Asian just like [me] because I've got green tea. Isn't that what you people drink?" I proceeded to flip him the bird.

Hippolytus
"Don't worry, dude. I promise not to tell anybody."
So yeah, our very own Chris will be acting in this week's premiere of Euripedes' Hippolytus, the tragic tale of a chaste vegetarian. And our good friend's role? He's part of the chorus. But he's the part of the chorus that talks a lot. So come and see the show if you have a chance! Contact me for more information, although I can't offer you much more than what's already in the comic besides the fact that its a free show.

Pi Day
The obligatory sacrifices of Pac-Men were, of course, performed off screen.
It's Pi Day today! So why don't you go out there and measure the area of some circular object, maybe even the volume if you're feeling adventurous. Or you could practice it the corrupt Hallmark style and stay inside to eat pie all day. I promise I won't judge you... too kindly.

The Battle
"I'm gonna integrate you so hard, you'll wish you were improper!"
Yeah, so the Math midterm wasn't half bad. Maybe it was because I had been studying for three days straight, but all of the problems seemed extremely doable. I only figured out how to do one of them at the last minute, and one of them had an answer that would have made its own mom abort it, but overall I think I did okay.
